Poem: Scars are trophies

Scars are your trophies
of battle waged
Some have been won
Some have been lost
ALL have been fought
Well Done!

Even these
will work for good
And Beauty will rise from ash.

Haiku: While I thank Heaven

Sunrise in the Oz Outback

Photo: “Sunrise in the Oz Outback” by Rob Chandler @ Flickr

The sun waves at me
Her soft rays of warmth kiss me
While I thank Heaven

Haiku: Unwind

At day’s end. Unwind
Breath deeply, exhale, close eyes
There’s no place like home

HAIKU: THE DARK PATH

Photo: Unknown

Photo: Unknown

The dark, phantom path;
I stop, I shudder, fear mocks;
Oh mouse that I am!

Haiku: Desk job

raindrop against window pane

I hear the raindrops
Marked reminders of freedom
Whilst here, I slave away

POEM: AUSTERITY

austerity

Austerity,
that dreaded word;
Never bites the shepherd,
as it does the herd.

Poem: Arise and Shine

20130302-223830.jpg

Let incense rise up
A weary pilgrim’s offering
Knights with tattered armour
Returning from afar

Arise holy bride
Embraced by the King
Kissed by the maker
And shaped by His love

Gather together the warriors
Let the wind bring forth its prize
Pour out your libations
Let faithful ones arise

In this inner sanctum
The heavy glory rests
A place of fear and trembling
Where angels fear to tread

The beauty of this otherness
A witness of true love
Arise now, shine now
And be led by the dove.
